The great Barries Reefs are being reestablished through coral gardening

Great Barrier Reef

Restoration at the Great barrier reef

What has been done

The great barrier reef faced serious threat to existence over the years. The biorock coral has tried to change the situation. We used biorock technology to reestablish the corals in the reefs. We have recorded excellent results of our volunteers' efforts. The volunteers worked day and night to make the steel structures and collect smaller coral polyps to grow. The reef is in improved condition now. Thousands of tourists visit this place every year.

With over 1500 volunteers working at this site, it is one of our biggest projects.

Future work

Even though the situation at the Great barrier reef has been improved, there still lies vast areas of damaged reefs. It needs extended effort from the volunteers, local population and government to completely restore the reefs.

Many beaches that are heavily crowded by tourists have become full of plastic wastes. This waste affects the turtles and other aquatic animals. Beach cleaning work has been started recently and needs to speed up.
